The Dinner Party by Judy Chicago is a symbolic history of women in Western civilization. It is a monumental work of art that employs numerous media, including ceramics and china-painting, to honor women’s achievements. A symbolic banquet, The Dinner Party represents thirty-nine “guests of honor” with painted plates rising from intricate textiles draped over the tabletop.
