John William Waterhouse

Marked by his meticulous draftsmanship and subtle, sumptuous use of color, John William Waterhouse was arguably one of the finest painters of the Victorian era. The artist enjoyed a long and prolific career, during which he produced paintings on a wide variety of subjects—from scenes drawn from classical mythology and history to the Medieval and romantic images for which he is perhaps best known.
